The change found in the car....

This wool yarnn came from and Jcrew sweater i found at AMVETS for $3.95. It was a mens large so when i unraveled it there was a lot of yarn. This was the first time i had ever tried to unravel a sweater for its yarn. I found it to be very easy, but time consuming. After i had inraveled, wraped, washed, and let dry. Jen and I tryied koolaid dying for the first time. Now that was fun! And so cheap too! For one night my enitre house smelled like koolaid. Since we had never done dying before we dyed a lot of colors to see what they made. We took the change that Sean leaves in the door of my car and bought all different colors of koolaid. And this is what resulted!!!! Different shades of blues, greens, and PINKS!!! The dark maroon at the top is a bright red yarn dyed with grape. I am in the process of making them into a bag. I will be posting pics of that as soon as it is finished.

Sean's Hat

Well it would say Sean's hats...but i didn't take a picture of the other hat i made him. Anyways this is made with Wool-ease quick and thick in, cranberry, pewter, and sky blue. The pattern is #5 in Knit1 fall/winter 05. It is knit on size 13 double pointed needles. Sean liked his hat so much he wore it all weekend and never took it off. Well it is really really cold in his apt but I'd like to think he didn't take it off because he liked it so much. He asked me to knit him another hat in black so he could wear it to work and not get it all dirty. I used the same yarn in black and just did a simple k2p2 rib for 6 rows and then stst for a while. I think it turned out great, I'll have to get a picture of it. I love it when he asks mem to knit him somthing.
